DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING SERMON OUTLINER
Uninstall Previous Version Of Sermon Outliner
If you have a previous version of Sermon Outliner installed, then you will need to completely uninstall it.
You must delete the Sermon Outliner folder, delete the Sermon Outliner template, and delete the registry entries.
1. Delete the Sermon Outliner folder. Open My Computer, open the C drive, delete the folder "Sermon Outliner"
2. Delete the Sermon Outliner template. Open my computer, go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Startup In this folder you will find a file called "Sermon Outliner.dot" Delete it! If the file is not located in this folder, then do a Search for this file.
3. Delete the registry entries. Open My Compter, open the C drive, and then open the Windows folder. Find a file called regedit.exe and double click on it. This open the Reg Edit program. In the left panel, click on the plus sign (+) next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, click on the plus sign next to Software, do a right click on the Sermon Outliner folder and choose "Delete".
4. Open Word, do a right click on any toolbar and choose "Customize." Now left click on the SOT button (The button you use to start up Sermon Outliner) and keep the mouse button pressed down. Now drag the SOT button off the toolbar onto a blank space and let it go.
Sermon Outliner is now uninstalled
Installing Sermon Outliner
1. Open My Computer and go to your My Documents folder and then create a new folder called "Sermon Outliner Installation Files." It does really matter where you create this folder or what you call it (as long as it is not "SermonOutliner"). You just need somewhere to download Sermon Outliner.
2. Download the following files "sermonoutliner.exe" and "Sermon Outliner.dot" Simply click on the two links below and Save them to the new folder you created.
3. Open My Computer and go to the folder where you saved these files. Now double click on the file "sermonoutliner.exe" and it will install all the folders and files on your C drive.
4. Now you need to copy all the macros from the Sermon Outliner.dot template onto your Normal template. To do this:
a) Open Word, click on the Tools menu, go down to Macro, and then click on "Macros." Now click on the "Organizer" button.
b) In the right panel you will see a heading that says, "Macro Project Items available in:" In the box below you will see it has something like "Normal.dot (global template)"
c) In the left panel, click on the "Close File" button. It now says "Open File...". Click on it again and navigate to the folder where you saved the "Sermon Outliner.dot" file. Double click on it.
d) You will now see that the window in the left panel is filled with a list of the macros that make up Sermon Outliner. You you to highlight them all and then click on the Copy button in middle of the two panels. You could do this one at a time but the quickest way is to highlight the first item, scroll down to the bottom of the list, hold the shift button down on your keyboard, and then click on the last item. They should all be highlighted and you just need to click on the Copy button.
5. Close all the windows and then close word. Open Word and the SOT button should appear in the first position on the Standard toolbar.
